We understand you have a choice. Here are some of the reasons people continue to work with us…
1. Unique philosophy for sustainable change
When it comes to making changes, advancements or improvements in your career or workplace, there is an abundance of material to draw from. To help them grow and develop, organizations rely on training, workshops, books and the internet for a wide variety of tools (assertiveness techniques, personality assessment, leadership development and conflict management, to name a few). Yet despite a strong desire for change and a wide variety of tools to rely on, most people don’t advance nearly as quickly as they would like, sliding backwards into old patterns or going on to recreate the same negative patterns in new positions. Focusing almost exclusively on behaviors, actions and thought patterns, the current workplace solutions rarely lead to sustainable change. Challenging ourselves to “think positively” or “act more assertively” may sound logical, but as anyone who’s tried it knows, it doesn’t have much staying power. Sustainable growth and development comes from understanding why we’re thinking negatively or behaving timidly in the first place. We work directly with the reasons behind our behaviors, actions and thought patterns, and particularly the internal barriers that hold us back from making productive and positive changes. All of the Citrus Coaching programs explore our internal operating systems by using our unique “Inside/Out” coaching model. By gaining an understanding of how we are motivated, we have a much greater chance of successful development.
2. Develop Initiative
A lot of consulting or organizational support solutions inadvertently position themselves as “experts” in the field of organizational development, unknowingly creating a hierarchical separation with the client or team they’re working with. The risk with the separation is that the client group may unconsciously come to rely on the “expert’s” opinion, rather than learning to resource within themselves. In these cases, the client group usually fails to develop the independence required to achieve ongoing results after the consulting relationship has come to an end. Citrus Coaching creates a non-hierarchical environment that openly encourages and instructs each client to develop their own empowered process of self-resourcing to generate ongoing growth and learning. The coach may in actual fact be more experienced than the client in certain areas, however simultaneous engagement in their own ongoing development and growth anchors the relationship in integrity, inspiring and motivating clients to stretch beyond their current comfort zones.
3. 360 Degree intuition
Despite an open mind and a thorough exploration of strengths and weaknesses, our blind spots may thwart us from achieving our business or workplace goals. After 9 years of coaching experience with all levels of employees, Citrus coaching has developed and honed a powerful coaching tool we call “360 degree Intuition.” Subtle self-sabotaging patterns, limiting beliefs and even obvious external challenges can often be detected and mirrored back for the client. These “gut reactions” provide powerful insights that are often the catalyst for surging forward.
4. Certified Credentials
As a professionally certified coach and management professional with extensive training, you can expect a very high level of competency and skill, translating to more results in a shorter period of time.
5. Support Tools
As part of the Citrus Coaching community, you can sign up for “The Juice,” a quarterly newsletter containing articles and short simple solutions to some of life’s more common challenges. In addition, you’ll have access to loads of downloadable worksheets, workbooks, articles and other tools geared towards supporting and sustaining your ongoing investment in your workplace development. You can also stay connected through our engagement blog.
6. We make it easy to do business with Citrus
To accommodate busy company schedules and minimize disruption and impact on your business, coaching sessions are usually held over the phone. However, if you would prefer, we will visit you at your place of business.
7. Bridge the Emotional Gap
While most organizations are finally acknowledging that emotions are fact of life in the workplace, a very high percentage of employees still experience anxiety and discomfort when it comes to actually dealing with them. Thanks to books like, “Emotional Intelligence,” by Danielle Goleman, we may throw the term EQ around confidently, however the preferred method of handling emotions still seems to be ignoring, suppressing or denying them in hopes they don’t come back. Emotional avoidance wrecks havoc in workplace relationships. With significant data proving a correlation between healthy emotional management and improved bottom lines, understanding, expressing and accepting our emotional state may mean the difference between organizational success and failure. All Citrus coaching programs integrate a high level of emotional education using basic identification tools. Clients are given a safe place to explore and demystify their emotional experience, promoting greater acceptance and tolerance for self and others, in addition to gaining more flexibility to handle a challenging range of workplace circumstances.
8. Hold your Feet to the Fire
In order to manage many of today’s workplace challenges, it takes a lot of courage, stamina, focus, hard work and dedication. Even if we are able to muster all of these characteristics simultaneously, it can be extremely difficult to sustain them throughout the lifespan of the challenge. Citrus Coaching programs have only one agenda – yours! We will challenge, encourage, cajole, remind, push, and even hold your feet to the fire if that’s what it takes. We know how easily and quickly old patterns resurface and we are even more committed to your goals than you are.
9. We convert overwhelm to empowerment!
“Overwhelmed” seems to be a very common state of mind in the workplace these days. Task lists seem never-ending and there’s rarely a good time to take a break. And those odd times when we finally do manage to stop, our mind can’t help thinking of a million other things we should be doing and all too soon we’re back in action again.
Regardless of how large our task list is, one thing is clear. People who respond with a sense of frustration and helplessness usually end up less-productive and more prone to burn-out. All of the Citrus Coaching business programs teach clients to manage busyness without succumbing to stressful and counter-productive reactions. From this vantage point, clients discover a completely new range of productiveness that allows for greater results while positively impacting those around them.
